Business owners, residents and community members are invited to discover how artificial intelligence (AI) can support their work and everyday lives at a free workshop in Coleambally on Tuesday 20 October from 9.30am to 1.30pm.
The four-hour ‘Artificial Intelligence for Beginners’ workshop will be held at Coleambally Community Hall, giving participants practical experience in using AI tools safely, responsibly and effectively.
Delivered in partnership with the NSW Department of Education as part of Small Business Month, the fully subsidised four-hour workshop is designed for people with little or no AI experience.
Participants will learn what AI is, how it works and how tools such as ChatGPT and Copilot can save time, boost productivity and support everyday tasks. The session will provide practical tips for using AI safely and responsibly.
Murrumbidgee Council mayor Ruth McRae OAM encouraged residents to take advantage of the opportunity to build practical digital skills in a supportive learning environment.
“Artificial Intelligence is becoming an increasingly important part of everyday life and work. Whether you’re running a business, working in agriculture, involved in a community organisation or simply interested in learning something new, this workshop will provide practical skills you can start using straight away.
“It’s important that regional communities have the opportunity to understand and benefit from new technologies.
“This workshop will help participants build confidence in using AI tools while understanding how to use them safely and responsibly.”
The workshop is suitable for workers, business owners, primary producers, educators, community organisation members, jobseekers and anyone curious about AI.
Participants should bring a laptop or other internet-enabled device to access online resources and take part in workshop activities.
A workshop will also be held at Finley TAFE on 19 October for residents who are unable to attend the Coleambally session.
