Relocation of an Aborginal scar tree near Narrandera has been estimated to cost $5000.

In 2022 discussions regarding the tree were held between the Narrandera Shire Council, Traffic NSW and Local Lands Services (LLS).

TfNSW is responsible for the land that the tree is located on.

Past records of the Scar Tree indicate that it is classed as a Directional tree.

Council determined that the $5000 from LLS, would not be enough to cover all costs involved in moving the tree.

However with more research, it might be possible to stabilise the tree in its current location and possibly undertake some preservation works in the area, with a fence and signage, and working closely with TfNSW.

Information can also be added to the Interpretive Centre at the Narrandera Destination and Discovery Hub (DDH) to benefit tourism.
