Two missing men found dead inside submerged car in irrigation canal at Griffith

The bodies of two men have been discovered inside a submerged vehicle found in a canal near Griffith yesterday.
Officers from Murrumbidgee Police District received a report yesterday, of two men, both aged in the 50s, missing from the Griffith area since Saturday August 8.
As inquiries commenced, police were alerted to a vehicle that was found on its roof submerged in water in a canal on Mansell Road, Hanwood, about 5.30pm on Monday.
A closer inspection of the vehicle revealed the bodies of two men inside.
Early investigations suggest the vehicle has run off the road and crashed into the canal killing the driver and his passenger.
Due to the difficult terrain, the extraction of the vehicle will start this morning, with the assistance of the Volunteer Rescue Association.
Inquiries continue.
