Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Newell Highway at Grong Grong this month for essential road work.

Single lane closures will be in place on the Newell Highway between Gawnes and Connells roads to rebuild and widen the highway to provide a safer road.

Work will be carried out Mondays to Saturdays between 7am and 6pm from Tuesday 27 January and is expected to be completed in mid-April, weather permitting.

For the safety of workers and road users, the Henwood Rest Area will be closed for the duration of the project. Road users will instead be able to stop at Firetail Rest Area or Narrandera truck parking bay.

Traffic control and reduced speed limits of 40 km/h will be in place for the duration of the project to guide road users through the work zone.
