Rankins Springs Dragons RLFC have named their coaches for their 100th anniversary season in 2026.
2025 Women’s co-coach Luke Tuckett returns to coach the Dragonettes along with captain Brooke Streat, who becomes the first women’s player to take on the coaching role.
For the men’s side, 2019-2020 coach Kane Wilson returns to the head coaching role after spending the last two years as team manager, along with 2018 & 2021 co-coach and club secretary Jamie Parsons, returning to the role after five years as just a player.
Luke Tuckett first came to the club in 2023 alongside wife Tash Tuckett, currently club treasurer. He played two seasons for the men’s team in 2023-24 before 2025 was interrupted with injury. He joined Joel McIntyre as coach last season taking the team to a preliminary final.
Brooke Streat has been with the club since she was very young with father Stephen and mother Sue, both life members. She first played for the women’s team in 2022 and became captain of the team in 2024. She is the fifth coach of the women’s team after Wally Lamont, Joel McIntyre, Bart McIntyre and Luke.
Kane Wilson was brought to the club by 2018 co-coach Josh Curphey and was part of the 2018 premiership side. After enjoying the experience so much he applied and was named head coach for the 2019 season, taking the side to a preliminary final.
He was again named coach for the 2020 season which was cancelled in May. Despite moving to Young, Kane still turned out for the men’s side when they were short on numbers during 2021 & 2022 before returning full time to the side in 2023.
Kane then served as team manager during 2024 under coaches Damian Walker & Joshua Johnston, being part of another premiership victory. In 2025 he returned to the field for two games while still serving in the manager’s role. Kane will add to his 24 competition games and 8 games as captain.
Jamie Parsons was part of the first Proten Cup and Rankins Springs Dragons committees in 2018 and continues to volunteer for both.
2026 will be his eighth year as club secretary and has been with the club since his early years as a ball boy in Group 17. With Josh Curphey he won the 2018 premiership as co-coach and returned to coach with John Power in 2021, winning another premiership with the Dragons. Along with being a part of the Dragons’ third premiership in 2024, he
has amassed 52 competition games with the Springs, 16 as captain. With Kye Longford of Narrandera he is one of two coaches to have won two Proten Cup premierships.
Rankins Springs are well into the planning stages of their 100 Year Celebrations, with plans underway for a pre-season reunion night, a history book, centenary merchandise, a 100 year jersey featuring their original blue-and-gold colours, trial matches and their 2026 home round.
The Rankins Springs RLFC was born in May 1926, playing Sims Gap in their first game on May 15th, before playing Weethalle for the first time in September.
