An “Introduction to AI for Small Business” workshop will be held on Monday 9 February at the Narrandera Destination and Discovery Hub starting at 6pm.
This training has been funded by Narrandera Shire Council in conjunction with Narrandera Business Group (NBG).
Business owners or managers can attend in person or virtually online. Link to register for this workshop - https://forms.office.com/r/DQvuLQ0evS
Cost – free to NBG Members or $20 for non-members. They also have the option of a six-month membership of $25 which will get you the workshop free as well as all the other benefits of being a NBG member.
Trainer for the workshop is Tricia Pye from The Tec Exec. Trish has provided the following rationale on why businesses need to build their AI capability in the Riverina.
“Strong regional economies depend on confident, capable local businesses. With the support of Narrandera Business Group and Narrandera Shire Council our Digital Skills and AI training enables Riverina business owners and staff to adopt new technology in a way that’s practical, ethical and locally relevant,” she said.
“By building digital capability locally, we help keep skills, jobs and opportunity in the Riverina.
“From farming and agribusiness to retail, professional services and not-for-profits, AI can help Riverina businesses:
• Cut hours spent on admin and reporting
• Improve customer communication and marketing
• Create website and content faster without extra staff
• Create practical, technology-enabled opportunities for local businesses
“Our practical AI sessions are designed specifically for Riverina businesses – delivered in plain English, with real examples and hands-on guidance.
“By building digital capability locally, we help keep skills, jobs and opportunity in the Riverina.”
The TEC EXEC was founded by Ms Pye, who moved to the far south coast of New South Wales over 20 years ago.
With a background in training small businesses and corporate industries in computer and business skills, Trish quickly noticed a significant gap in the adoption of new technologies and education around computing and business technology in regional areas.
Whilst she is in Narrandera she is also holding a “Basic Tech Skills workshop using smart phones and tablets” on Monday 9 and Tuesday 10 February. Anyone can attend this workshop but must book in by contacting the Narrandera Library 6959 5585 to reserve a spot.
