The Narrandera Shire Council has accepted the tender by Electrical Design and Construction Pty Ltd for $541,794 ex GST for the Narrandera Water and Sewerage Telemetry Network Upgrade as well as approving an increase of the total project budget to $650,000, funded by the Water and Sewer Fund reserves.
At the same time it approve a development application for the Torrens title subdivision (two into five lots) at Lots 3 and 7 Section 29 DP758757, being 10-12 Gundagai Street, Narrandera, subject to the Conditions of Consent in accordance with section 4.16 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
The construction tender for the Narrandera Water and Sewerage Telemetry Network Upgrade closed with a total of seven tenders received.
The Tender Assessment Panel determined that Electrical Design and Construction Pty Ltd (EDC) was the preferred tenderer, achieving the highest weighted score (4.60) in the evaluation process and submitting the lowest priced, fully conforming tender.
EDC performed strongly in all criteria, and their referee checks indicate high quality of work, sound WHS management, and successful project delivery on time and within budget.
To ensure adequate resourcing for the project, an increase to the total project budget was recommended to cover project management and contract contingency.
Council issued the open tender for the Narrandera Water and Sewerage Telemetry Network Upgrade to transition the current analogue radio network to a modern, digital telemetry network.
This project is essential for enhancing the SCADA system’s functionality and improving communication between water and sewer assets and a central control system.
The current total project budget across the Water and Sewer Funds is $595,000. However it was recommended that this be increased to $650,000 to allow for adequate funding for contingency (10 per cent) and project management overheads (10 per cent).
The combined evaluation matrix ranked Electrical Design and Construction Pty Ltd as the preferred tenderer with the highest overall score.
