The huge Sun Central Solar Fireworks Display ties together a comprehensive programme of events and displays at this year’s Annual Ardlethan Agricultural Show.

To support displays in the Pavilion this year, hands-on workshops are being conducted by the Ardlethan Central School and members of the Show Society to highlight the importance of the inclusion of the younger members of our community by passing on all-important skills and how to present their entries for judging at the show.

Already, students have partaken in a bulb-planting exercise and the plan is to present the pots in the Floral Section of the pavilion this year, resplendent with happy heads of daffodils on display.

There are a number of classes coming up that cover other sections at the show; Helen Hickey will present cooking and baking classes for school students and older members of the community on 23 August (phone 0429 816 165 to book with Helen).

Marcia Ryan will conduct beading classes for students to enter in the craft section; how to present photography will be conducted by David Beltrami. Other classes in Art, Junk Art and Recycled Craft will be conducted, highlighting the Show Theme of “Sheep” for 2025, keeping the local farming industry at the forefront.

Ardlethan School Principal Jenny Taylor has helped lead the push, with her endeavours and positive attitude towards bridging the gap between students and community members, ensuring the bright future of the show.
