Police seized drugs, military ordinance, firearms and other prohibited weapons following a search warrant in Leeton last week.

In July 2025, investigators attached to Murrumbidgee Police District commenced an investigation into firearms, prohibited drugs and prohibited weapons in the Leeton area.

Following extensive inquiries, a search warrant was executed at a home on Lansdowne Road, Leeton, about 8am on Thursday July 24.

During the search, police allegedly located methylamphetamine, pistols, military ordnance rounds, an extendable baton, a flick knife, a trench knife, a slingshot and other associated items.

A 50-year-old man was arrested and taken to Leeton Police Station where he was charged with:

• Possess prohibited drug

• Possess unauthorised – two counts

• Possess prohibited firearm – two counts

• Possess unregistered firearm – pistol

• Possess or use a prohibited weapon without a permit – five counts

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Leeton Local Court on Tuesday 9 September.
