Ellie continues her AFLW success but now it’s a waiting game

Narrandera teenager Ellie Hall gave a stellar performance in the 2km time trial at the AFLW State Draft Combine. The 18-year-old earned an invite to the state combine after a strong season and is currently among the top 30 prospects ahead of the AFLW Draft on Monday December 16. Hall has enjoyed a stellar return season after missing out on her entire underage campaign after tearing her Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) in the pre-season last year. The combine is seen as the conclusion of the draft preparation and Ellie said she was pleased with some of her testing results and mentioned that the 2km was one of her strongest points. Hall was the clear standout in the 2km time trial which saw her clock a pretty impressive time. She said she finished well ahead of the field in the state combine and noted her time had her placed second overall in comparison to those who competed in the national combine. Hall won the state one by around 20 seconds and out of the national girls placed second. She was limited to just three games in 2023 for Narrandera in the Southern NSW Women's League as her ACL injury derailed her prospects for the rest of the season. The teenager made up for lost time representing the Allies, Murray Bushrangers and GWS Giants Academy this year. “It's been great to be given so many opportunities to play high-level footy this past season, “ she said. In addition to her playing commitments with the Giants Academy, Hall has also been having a few training runs with the GWS AFLW side but now faces a waiting game.
