NARRANDERA Imperial Eagles first grade team 2.1 (13) lost by 115 points against the Collingullie Wagga Demons 20.8 (128) in its Riverina Football League game last Saturday.

The Demons mustered 28 scoring shots at goal, with 20 resulting in six-pointers, compared to the Eagles’ three scoring opportunities at Crossroads Oval.

The Eagles were still within reach, trailing by just 15 points at the end of the first quarter, however the Demons ran riot in the second quarter, adding another five goals and two behinds while keeping the Eagles scoreless.

Things didn’t get much better after the main break restart when the game slipped away from the Eagles.

They kicked their second goal of the game, but allowed the Demons to add another six majors to take an unsurmountable 78-point lead into the final quarter.

Blake Renet kicked the Eagles’ two goals.

Their best players included Harry Pole, Blake Renet, Cooper Lee, Joshua Boag, Christian Davis and Oliver Hutchins.

Meanwhile, in the reserves, the Eagles 4.0 (24) lost by 76 points against the Collingullie Wagga Demons 14.16 (100).

The Eagles’ goal kickers were Jacob Bolton (2) and one each to Lachlan Kerr and Jarrod Craze.

Their best players included Thomas Pearson, Austyn Rankin, William Roffe, Jacob Bolton, Cooper Irons and Layne Bradford.

The Eagles will host Coolamon Rovers at Narrandera Sportsground on Saturday.

The bounce-up is at 2.10pm.

Meanwhile, there will be a Sportsman’s Night on Saturday featuring Irishman Zach Tuohy (pictured) who played for Geelong and Carlton.

The event offers stories, laughs and a great evening for footy fans at Narrandera Sportsground from 6pm.

Cost is $10 per adult and under 16s will be admitted for free.

A roast meal will be available for purchase on the night for $20.
