Summer golf teams sees mixed results for players

Some less than ideal scores were recorded in the Narrandera summer golf teams competition this week that resulted in some teams slipping considerably. Most notable were ‘Dimpled Balls’ who slid from 14th to 19th, ‘Nearly Family’ went from fourth to seventh and ‘Balls of Glory’ from second to sixth. Big improvers this week were ‘Happy Gilmours’ who improved three places to be now sitting third. In the bottom half of the ladder ‘Unknowns’ have moved off the bottom of the ladder up to 17th, some very good scores this week from that team. Not even a day off on Wednesday could encourage the schoolies to play, ‘Class Act’ are firmly ensconced at the bottom of the ladder suffering from too many 40’s. ‘The Mulligan Group’ recovered from their shocker last week and have begun their climb back up the ladder, Seb Eldridge scoring a terrific 25 to help his team along. Well done to Todd Carter, landing his tee shot 144cm from the flag on the fifth and then making the birdie putt. The 18th green is again presenting difficulties with no one landing their tee shot on the green. Jackie Babbs (25) was the best player this week, winning on a countback from Seb Eldridge. Pretty tough when a round of 25 is not good enough to get a voucher. With the Christmas season approaching, just a reminder that you only need to play one teams round from 22 December to 18 January. Also, rounds can be played in advance if players are going away, just write the appropriate week on the card. Week 7 winners Jackie Babbs best score 25 nett, NTP second winner (for players over 10 handicap) Brett Darrington 678cm, NTP fifth Todd Carter 144cm, Rod O’Brien Mower Services Pro Pin on the 18th, not claimed. Ball winners to 28 nett on a countback prizes can be collected from the Pro Shop. Ball winners included: Seb Eldridge (25), on 26 was Matt Norman, Heather Coddington, Terry Lawrence and Craig McGilvray. Graham Conroy and Kerry Quilter were both on 27. On 28 was Chris Walsh, Blake Lawrence, Will O’Mahoney, Todd Webber, Nicole Ivanoff, Braxton Ivanoff and Jock McHale.
