Narrandera’s long awaited Destination and Discovery Hub in Marie Bashir Park is finally open to the public.

Last week marked the vital milestone with the building opening its doors to a group from the Charles Sturt University on their way to visit Sandhills Artefacts at Narrandera.

The new building replaced the old Visitor Information Centre on Cadell Street and includes dedicated areas for visitor services, a permanent exhibition space where people can discover Narrandera Shire’s nature-based and cultural stories in a modern facility with interactive displays and improved access, public amenities and workspaces.

The Hub will also help build Narrandera as a starting point for exploring many of the attractions and opportunities available in the Riverina.

Funds for the project were received under the Playground on the Murrumbidgee NSW Drought Stimulus program. The total budget was $3,025,000 which included the design, demolition of the old building, $250,000 for internal fit out of the exhibition space and construction of the new build.
