Narrandera Spring Fair Committee rated this year's event last Saturday to be a huge success with thousands of community members and visitors attending.

The BBQ Challenge was again a main attraction with Red Hot Chilli Preppers taking out the championship this year.

“Dancing in the streets was fabulous with a lot of our local dance groups and schools braving the heat to delight the crowd,” said spokesperson for the organising committee Leanne Ivanoff.

“The musicians Kathleen Halloran, Sameera Bashir and Remedy entertaining the crowds for hours, with many onlookers taking advantage of our outside bar area.

“Local handmade market stalls were amazing, thanks to Kate from The Country Makers Market for organising this year.

“The Long Table dinner was again a huge hit and the screen with live streaming of the event meant you were not missing a thing.”

She said there were some amazing local cars on display for crowd members to view in the main street.

All the amusements and entertainers kept the kids busy for hours, with a special highlight being the glowing butterflies and Aerial Dancers.

“Many of our local businesses stayed open for the event and the committee thanks them for their efforts and hopes they benefited from the event.

“This event would not be possible without the support of all our local businesses and sponsors and the Open Streets Grant funding which has allowed us to run this event for the next two years.

“Lastly thanks are due to the small but dedicated committee and helpers who worked tirelessly in the lead up to and during the event, without them these events would not be possible.

“When you are considering your next purchase remember the local businesses that have supported this event and so many other events over the years and into the future. Shop Local to keep our community strong and vibrant,” Ms Ivanoff concluded.
