Leeton builder Bill Arnold has won the tender for the design and construction of new change rooms and club rooms at the Narrandera Sports Ground.
Contractor Bill Arnold Pty Ltd have created an impressive concept design for the new structure, based on existing drawings and requirements outlined in the request for tender by Narrandera Shire Council and Narrandera Imperial Football Netball Club.
The new space will include two levels, with the lower level offering changeroom facilities for two sporting groups comprising player change areas, showers, toilet facilities and strapping rooms all of which will meet AFL guidelines at state level.
Additional spaces include a fitness area, medical assessment room, two umpires/referees change areas with amenities and various storage spaces.
The upper floor will feature an auditorium with a covered viewing deck over the field, food and drink preparation/servery areas, amenities including disabled facilities, a meeting room and additional storage areas.
This project is proudly funded through live government and sporting bodies, made up of the contributions from Australian Government Department of Health ($1,400,000), Narrandera Shire Council ($315,000), AFL Riverina ($100,000), Stronger Country Communities Fund Round 3 ($100,000), and Narrandera Imperial Football-Netball Club ($73,360).
Preliminary works will take place including geotechnical investigation, final detailed designs and tree clearing in preparation for the construction, while building is expected to commence late 2020.
