Investigators attached to Wagga Wagga Police Station executed a search warrant at a residence in Coolamon last Thursday morning.
A 21 year old female occupant was present during the search, however another male occupant was not home.
During the search police located a loaded shortened .22 calibre firearm with an attached magazine. 1.35 grams of Heroin, 56.1 grams of Methylamphetamine, Buprenorphine, Australian currency and prohibited weapon (slingshot) were also seized.
About 10:55am on the same day a Holden Commodore was stopped on Bruce Street South, Coolamon.
The 28 year old male driver was arrested for offences connected with the search warrant. The male resisted police officers and Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) spray was deployed to effect the arrest.
A search of the male and his vehicle detected Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Suboxone and Australian currency. The male was treated at the scene before being taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.
Investigators returned to the Coolamon residence where a further search was conducted. A prohibited weapon (expandable baton), methamphetamine and a trail bike were seized.
The male was charged with nine offences – possess shortened firearm, acquire prohibited firearm, possess a prohibited weapon, use prohibited weapon, three counts of possess a prohibited drug, deal in the proceeds of crime and resist police officer.
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 5 on Friday.
The female was charged with four offences – supply prohibited drug, two counts of possess prohibited drug and deal in the proceeds of crime. She is set to appear before Wagga Wagga Local Court on December 17 2025.
