Narrandera Carpheads cricket team hosted Coolamon on a hot Saturday afternoon at the Marie Bashir Park last weekend.
Batting first the Carps were in a bit of strife falling to 4-14 before the ship was steadied with a solid partnership of 119 between the wiley veteran Ian Donaldson and Tom Butterfield.
Donaldson batting brilliantly for his half century. After this the Carps managed a very respectable total of 174.
Coolamon managed 127 in response, building a couple of good partnerships but it was the bowling of young Jed Scott that proved the difference with a brilliant four wickets.
Next weekend the Carps have the bye before they take on Kamarah away the following week.
