Narrandera High School Open Boys Cricket Team competed in the South West Riverina Gala Day, playing two T20 matches.
In their first match against Leeton High Sschool the boys defended 160, restricting Leeton to 83 from their 20 overs.
Archer (67 not out) and Jed (32) starred with the bat, whilst it was the Myles show with the ball, taking 3/2 from his two overs.
The final against Yanco Ag was hard fought, and momentum ebbed and flowed throughout the day. Yanco got off to a flyer with the bat and despite Narrandera squandering a number of chances in the field, a consistent bowling effort across the board restricted their innings to 112.
In reply, NHS were in early trouble, losing two wickets in the first over before Archer (34) and Nick (36) steadied the innings.
Yanco would have one late charge left, taking two wickets in the twelfth over to but some nerves through the Narrandera camp.
However, Jed (13 not out) and Pete (three not out) kept their cool and saw the boys home to the 113 victory target, attaining a convincing five wicket win with six overs to spare.
Congratulations to the team, who now move onto the next round of the Davidson Shield.
