Federal Member for Riverina Michael McCormack is proud to announce the winners of his 12th annual Christmas card design competition, themed “Christmas Where I Live”.
More than 1070 Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 students from across the electorate put their minds and talents to work to create drawings which represent what Christmas in the Riverina means to them.
This year’s winning artwork was submitted by Matong Public School Year 2 student Sinclair Bensch, 8.
The entry which was judged runner-up was from Binalong Public School, Year 1 student Leila Vasey, 7. Third place was awarded to Jaxson Kirton, 7, a Year 1 student at Tumbarumba Public School.
“Well done to all students who entered the competition,” Mr McCormack said.
“Each student who entered will receive a certificate to recognise their efforts in this year’s competition.
“The three winning entries have been incorporated into my 2025 Christmas greetings card with Sinclair’s incredibly detailed Harvesty Merry Christmas design to feature on the front.
“The winners will soon receive a commemorative book prize, and I extend my thanks to all participants, parents, caregivers and teachers for making this competition possible.
“It is always a joy to look at all the competition entries arriving in the office and to be reminded of what a special time of year this is for children across the Riverina.
“Thank you to the students for participating, as well as the school teachers and staff who contributed to another successful Christmas card competition.”
