A digital scoreboard has been installed at the Narrandera sportsground.

Sports facilities advisory committee member Cr Narelle Payne told Council the viewing public would be impressed with the placement of the new scoreboard.

“It will be seen clearly and we are pleased with the progress on site and looking forward to the opening of the new club rooms,” Cr Payne said.

Contracts have been signed with works underway on the club rooms, along with a grandstand improvement scoping study.

Outdoor court furniture and shelters concept designs were sought from the stadium committee and netball clubs.

The Henry Mathieson Oval levelling and resurfacing started in February and the perimeter fencing has been procured.

Meanwhile, Cr Barbara Bryon told council progress was being made with the refurbishment program at the Parkside Cottage Museum.

“I have no idea when we will be open. We do need a call for more volunteers to help with that,” she said. “There is great appreciation shown for what Council has done.”

The committee recommended an extension of the trial donation for entry for an extra 12 months.

Committee members heard the data was unconclusive due to the facility being closed because of COVID-19 and renovations since April 2020.
