Narrandera Hospital has received valuable patient care equipment generously donated by the Narrandera Hospital Auxiliary.
The hard-working Hospital Auxiliary committee fundraise throughout the year and pass on all donations gifted to them to buy equipment for Narrandera Hospital, so any money raised locally or donated in and around the town stays local.
The Auxiliary took some time out from fundraising last week to present the Hospital with their latest piece of equipment.
“The Auxiliary has donated a patient transfer board with inbuilt scales to weigh patients and measure their height whilst they are bed bound, a valuable tool when some medications are administered depending on weight,” acting facility manager Kate Williams said.
“This is a valuable tool as some medications are administered depending on the patients weight.”
The auxiliary also provided the hospital with Equagel pressure relieving cushions for pressure area care and a one handed Wheelie Walker for patients who have had upper limb surgery or lack the ability to use both arms for a usual Walker.
Leanne Ivanoff, Sewfab, donated labels to be applied to mark the good as property of Narrandera Hospital.
”Our staff always have a wish list of items we’d like to purchase that will make our jobs easier or safer or will make our patients more comfortable,” Ms Williams said.
“Donations allow us to purchase things off our wish list sooner than we would have otherwise.”
