Narrandera residents will be pleased to know that the Narrandera Council is working on a number of projects to improve the quality of water provided to residents of the town.
An important component of this work is hydrant and mains flushing. The 2021 flushing program will begin Thursday July 8 and will continue for approximately four weeks.
This is specialised work, so the Council has engaged contractors who use an innovative pipeline and water loss management system called NO-DES. This technology minimises water loss and wastage, allowing water mains to be cleaned without service interruptions.
This program will be run annually and involves every pipe and hydrant in the water network. After the completion of the program residents will see a long-term improvement in water quality.
Should residents notice any discolouration of water during this process they should contact Council immediately.
