Despite the defeat, the Eagles remain in 10th place on the ladder, just outside a finals berth.

Meanwhile, the Ganmain Grong Grong Matong Lions 5.8 (38) had better fortunes with a six-goal victory against the East Wagga Kooringal Hawks 0.2 (2).
The Lions easily contained their opponents and steadily increased their lead in each quarter.
The Lions’ goal kickers included Skye Hamblin (3) and one each for Stephanie Kissane and Emily Croft-Sharp.
It was a special night for Hamblin as she marked the milestone of playing in her 100th game.

In round 6, the Eagles will face an away game against the Marrar Bombers at Langtry Oval, while the Lions will host the ladder leaders Temora Kangaroos, at the Ganmain Sportsground.
